Bodywork Therapies

Also known as somatic therapies, we recognize the profound connection between mind and body. Our comprehensive wellness programs incorporate a variety of therapeutic bodywork modalities, including massage therapy, acupuncture, action-based induction therapy, fitness (personal trainer available), yoga, and outdoor recreation. These expertly administered and guided therapies help to alleviate physical tension, reduce stress hormones, and promote deep relaxation. By addressing the physical aspects of your well-being, bodywork plays a vital role in our holistic approach to healing, supporting your journey toward lasting mental and emotional equilibrium.

Action Based Induction Therapy

Action Based Induction Therapy, or ABIT, was specifically created to target the prefrontal cortex in both our mental health and our clients with substance use for “personal medicating”. Based on the principle of brain plasticity — the brain’s ability to adapt to stimuli by building new neural pathways — ABIT exposes participants to situations that stimulate the prefrontal cortex and encourage restoration and strengthening of the damaged neurons and connections. Think of it as a weight training exercise for the brain: repetitive use of the neural pathways in the prefrontal cortex makes them work faster and more reliably over time, just like repetitive physical exercises strengthen your muscles.

ABI therapies are usually activities that require skills like quick thinking, coolheadedness, and moral decision-making — for example, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Snowboarding, Skiing, or other fast-paced sports. These activities require that participants think and act quickly in high-stress situations, all while maintaining an accurate understanding of how their actions will influence their outcomes. After treatment, these gained skills are vital to succeeding in personal and professional relationships as well as holding oneself accountable for avoiding relapse.
